The raw material ingredients should be crushed to the required particle size by a feed crusher. The mixing process is a key process in pet food production. The basic process is to weigh the raw materials of different weights according to the formula, then pour them into the crusher and smash them, and then temporarily store all the materials in the storage bin. Then all the ingredients are ready, put them in the blender and mix them.
Extrusion is a high temperature and short time heat treatment process. It can not only reduce the degradation of food nutrients, improve the digestibility of protein and starch, but also destroy anti-nutrients and microorganisms. Can produce round, triangular, flower-shaped, bone-shaped and other shapes of dry pet food through different molds (templates) of the feed extruder. In pet food manufacturing plant, fat is usually added to improve the palatability of pet food, which is carried out during the conditioning process. In addition, in order to make pet food tablets have different colors, manufacturers usually add pigment water in the extrusion chamber.
The drying section is key point in pet food manufacturing plant which is used to remove water from the extruded pet food. The extruded material has a soft texture and a water content of 20-30%. After drying, the moisture of the finished product is controlled at 8%~10%, which can ensure the storage of the material within a certain period of time.
Our mesh belt dryer is a continuous convection belt dryer. The particles formed by the extruder are stacked in layers on a wire mesh or perforated belt conveyor, and continuously conveyed through the drying chamber.
During this process, dry air repeatedly passes through the product layer until the particles have an optimal moisture content before leaving the dryer. And if you choose a wet fish feed machine, we recommend using a gas pellet dryer.
♦ Cooling and screening
The main purpose of the cooling section is to cool the dried material from high temperature to close to room temperature and take away part of the moisture. In addition, in this process, the label of non-qualified food will be separated from the label of qualified food.
Some manufacturers pack pet food of the same shape in a bag in the pet food manufacturing plant, but some manufacturers mix pet food labels of several different shapes and colors together and pack them in a bag. The regular weight includes: 5kg, 1kg, 500g, 20g, and there are also large packages of 20-50kg. In order to make the finished pellets easy to store, transport and attract customers’ attention, they should be packaged properly. Using our electronic weighing and packaging machine, the finished pellets can be automatically bagged, weighed, conveyed, and sealed, which greatly saves labor and time and meets the requirements of large-scale production.
